1. रिकॉर्डेड बातचीत अदालत में सबूत के तौर पर पेश किया जा सकता है। 2. अकेला आदमी एक लड़की को गोद नहीं कर सकता। 3. बलात्कार की शिकार, एफआईआर दाखिल किए बिना, एक डॉक्टर के पास मेडिकल जांच के लिए जा सकती है | 4. एक महिला को सूर्यास्त के बाद और सूर्योदय से पहले गिरफ्तार नहीं किया जा सकता। 5. आप किसी भी समय किसी भी होटल में पीने के पानी और शौचालय का उपयोग कर सकते हैं।
6. महिलाओं अपराधियों को सुबह 6 बजे से सायं 6 बजे के बीच केवल महिला अधिकारियों द्वारा गिरफ्तार किया जा सकता है | 7. कानून राज्य नहीं है कि होटल एक अविवाहित जोड़े के लिए प्रवेश से इनकार कर सकते हैं। 8. एक महिला के ऊपर व्यभिचार करने का आरोप लगाया नहीं जा सकता है। 9. केवल डॉक्टर की जाँच के आधार पर बलात्कार का फैसला नहीं सुना सकते |
10. गिरफ़्तारी के समय, व्यक्ति को किस आधार पर गिरफ्तार किया जा रहा है, यह जानने का पूरा हक़ है|
11. महिलाओं और पुरुषों के कार्यस्थल पर समान वेतन पाने के हकदार हैं। 12. बेटों और बेटियों को पिता की विरासत को पाने का एक समान अधिकार है। 13. आपकी शिकायत दर्ज करने से मना करने पर पुलिस अधिकारी को 6 महीने से 2 साल के लिए जेल हो सकती है।
14. किसी भी तरह की पूछताछ एवं गिरफ्तार करने के समय अपना पहचान पत्र (I-Card) पहनना अनिवार्य है|

19. कोई भी विवाहित जोड़ा शादी के एक साल पूरा होने तक तलाक आवेदन नहीं कर सकता। 20. एक महिला को पूछताछ के लिए अदालत में बुलाया नहीं जा सकता है; इसके बजाय उससे घर पर ही पूछताछ की जा सकती है। 21. एक पुलिसकर्मी किसी को भी नशे के संदेह के आधार पर पर गिरफ्तार कर सकता है, अगर कोई श्वास परीक्षा लेने से इंकार कर देता है | और इस गिरफ्तारी के लिए एक वारंट की जरूरत नहीं है |
22. बलात्कार के मामले में महिला मुफ्त कानूनी सहायता पाने की हकदार है। 23. गर्भवती कर्मचारियों को अपनी नौकरी से निकाला नहीं जा सकता है। 24. महिलायें, उपायुक्त या पुलिस आयुक्त को ईमेल या रजिस्टर्ड डाक के माध्यम से शिकायत दर्ज कर सकतीं हैं। 25 सार्वजनिक जगह पर चुंबन या आलिंगन एक अपराध नहीं है।
26. गिरफ्तारी के 24 घंटे के भीतर गिरफ्तार किये व्यक्ति को न्यायाधीश के समक्ष पेश किया जाना चाहिए और उससे लंबे समय तक हिरासत में भी नहीं रक्खा जा सकता।

Rights every Indian should know

1. Recorded conversations can be justified as evidence in court.
2. A single man cannot adopt a girl child.
3. A rape survivor can approach a doctor for a medical examination without filing an FIR.

4. A women cannot be arrested after sunset and before sunrise.

5. You can ask for drinking water and use the washroom for free at any hotel at any time.

6. Women offenders can only be arrested by women officers between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

7. The law does not state that hotels can deny admission to an unmarried couple.

8. A woman cannot be charged with committing adultery.

9. The doctor's word on whether rape has happened is not the final call on evidence.

10. When arrested, an arrestee deserves to know on what grounds he or she is being detained.

11. Women and men are entitled to equal pay at the workplace.

12. Both sons and daughters have an equal right to inheritance.

13. A police officer who fails or refuses to lodge your complaint is eligible to receive from 6 months to 2 years of jail.

20. A woman cannot be called in to court for questioning; instead she can be interrogated at home itself.

21. A policeman does not need a warrant to arrest someone he suspects of being drunk and if they refuse to take a breathalyzer test.

22. In case of rape, a woman is entitled to receive free legal aid.

23. Pregnant employees cannot be fired from their jobs.

24. Women can lodge a complaint via email or registered post to the Deputy commissioner or Commissioner of Police.

25. Kissing or hugging in public is not a criminal offence.

26. An arrestee has to be produced before the judge within 24 hours of arrest, and cannot be detained longer than that.
